Homemade sweets

Who among us likes sweets, hand up! Store shelves are full of excess deliciousness. However, when we read their composition written on the labels, the desire for something sweet quickly passes. Leavers, artificial dyes and essences, sugar, flavor enhancers, preservatives ... We can completely give up eating sweets or look for specialties with a better composition in the "bio" sections, but in this case we have to take into account a much higher price that follows the quality.

There is also a third way out. Preparing sweets at home, which we want to encourage you to do. Thanks to this, you will be sure of the composition of the prepared delicacies, you will adapt them to your own needs and taste, and ... It will be a fantastic experience and great fun for you, especially if you involve the whole family in the production. We have a few proven and simple recipes for you, we will also be happy to know your recipes for homemade sweets 🙂

Homemade chocolate

Ingredients

3 tablespoons of coconut oil

1 tablespoon of dark cocoa [no sugar added]

1 flat tablespoon of carob, i.e. locust bean gum

1 tablespoon of maple syrup *

2-3 tablespoons of cow or vegetable milk

Silicone mold for ice cubes

Optional: a tablespoon of hazelnuts, cranberries or raisins

Preparation

Melt coconut oil in a saucepan over low heat. Remove the pan from the heat source and add cocoa, carob, maple syrup and milk. Stir vigorously with a spoon or spatula until all ingredients are completely dissolved. Then add the dried fruit. Put the resulting mass into a mold and put it cooled down in the fridge for 1-2 hours. Ready!

* instead of maple syrup, you can use other sweeteners, e.g. honey, erythritol, xylitol etc. Add the amount of sweetener and dried fruit as you wish and taste.

Apple Crisps

Ingredients

1 kg of sweet apples

Preparation

Cut the apples into quarters, remove the seeds and cut into thin slices. We put them in a vegetable dryer or oven, set to the lowest temperature [about 40 degrees]. We must remember that the slices should be arranged one at a time and with minimum spacing. Dry the apples until they are crunchy. Instead of apples, we can also use bananas.

Flavored milky drink

Ingredients

100 g of almond or coconut flakes

0.5 liters of water

1 tablespoon of dark cocoa [possibly 3-4 tablespoons of strawberry, raspberry or other fruit juice]

Optional: 2 tbsp maple syrup or other sweetener

Preparation

Pour flakes into the pot and pour hot [but not boiling!] Water over it. Leave it overnight, then blend it until the petals are finely divided. We strain through cheesecloth. Sweeten the resulting drink as you like and add cocoa [or juice], stirring vigorously until completely dissolved.

The chips remaining on the gas can be used as an addition to, for example, breakfast cereals. If we do not use all the milk at once, keep it in a closed container in the refrigerator. The milk may stratify, which is not to be concerned, just stir it before serving.

Breadsticks

Ingredients

1 cup of flour

1 tablespoon of rapeseed oil

pinch of salt

water

optional: sesame, poppy seeds

Preparation

Pour the flour and salt into a bowl, add oil and mix. Slowly pour in a small amount of water and keep stirring until a hard, non-sticky dough is obtained. We tear them into small pieces and form hoses [or put them through a meat grinder with a small mesh strainer]. We can press sesame or poppy seeds into the resulting sticks. Place the hoses on a baking sheet and bake them in the oven at 180 degrees for about 20-25 minutes. The fingers should be firm and baked, but not burnt 🙂

And finally, we have a proposal for a truly autumn, delicious dessert 🙂

Delicious apple dessert

Ingredients

4 large apples

2 tablespoons of walnuts

1 tablespoon of almond flakes

1 tablespoon of cranberries

1 tablespoon of honey

Optional: cream or natural yoghurt sweetened with maple syrup

Preparation

Cut the top of the apples to make a "cap". We dig out the seed nests with a spoon. In a blender, mix nuts, cranberries, almond flakes and honey. Stuff the apples with the resulting mass and cover them with the previously cut "cap". Put on a baking sheet in the oven preheated to 180 degrees and bake for about 30-35 minutes, until the apples are soft. We serve it with cream or yoghurt.

Enjoy your meal! 🙂
