Bilingualism - How? Who? What for?

Why is the Bilingualism Program our priority?

We are aware that the knowledge of foreign languages in today's world is not only an asset, but even a necessity.
Thanks to the Bilingual program:
- we will teach your child to communicate freely in English
- we will enable the commencement of education in bilingual schools.

How?

In the Orange Kindergartens, from the first days in the kindergarten, children are immersed in English (language immersion), which, along with the Polish language, accompanies every activity: meals, walks, games and rest. Children learn a foreign language completely naturally and often unconsciously.

In order to provide children with optimal conditions of immersion in the language, we have created our own system of work with children based on three pillars:

  • proven, effective methods of teaching foreign languages,
  • modern technologies, including games in English with the interactive EMYSEM robot
  • a team of qualified, passionate teachers who love working with children.

Our methods:

LANGUAGE IMMERSION - immersion in a foreign language

English teachers speak to children only in a foreign language

English-language education runs in parallel with Polish-language education using all of them programs used in Orange Ciuchcia Kindergartens

CLIL - Content and Language Integrated Learning

a foreign language is used to conduct various preschool activities (science, mathematics, workshops and research, social, art, sports)

TPR - a method of reacting with the whole body

we take into account the natural need of physical activity in children, therefore the new content is accompanied by movement facilitating understanding and remembering

CLT - communicative language teaching

communication is a means and an end here, and activities are based on cooperation in pairs and groups, at the same time shaping social skills in children

DIRECT METHOD (direct method)

when we work with this method, the most important thing is for the children to talk and listen a lot in a foreign language; we encourage them to ask lots of questions in English and to formulate as many answers as possible

LETTERS & SOUNDS - phonetic language learning program

it is used in kindergartens and schools in Great Britain. It is the best modern method of developing the ability to recognize sounds, listen, build words, and then read in English.

Who?

English-speaking teachers

Two teachers work in the bilingual group: Polish and English. The English-speaking teacher communicates with everyone (children, parents, Polish-speaking teacher and kindergarten staff) only in English. It is the most natural and effective form of bilingual education, based on the OPOL system - "one parent: one language". Both languages are learned simultaneously, in a completely stress-free way, often unnoticed by children - during play and everyday activities.

Educational robot Emys

EMYS is a social, interactive robot that loves teaching kids English. Emys feels, sees, hears, reacts to touch and is always able to involve children in joyful play. He can recognize and react to many accessories - interactive cards, badges, stickers and stuffed toys. They arouse children's curiosity, which makes them begin to communicate and function in English. He knows that for children, play is essential in the process of gaining new knowledge and skills. That's why he knows all the fun games. I engage children in physical, art and music activities. Everything in English, but the fun is so great that children immersed in the language forget that they are learning it.

Methodist of teaching foreign languages

The methodologist takes care of the proper implementation of the program, observes, discusses the classes and uses his experience, monitors world trends in foreign language education, analyzes the latest research in this field, and develops a strategy for teaching English in our kindergartens. It is a support for parents: it introduces them to the world of bilingualism, helps them understand the linguistic development of children and answers all questions.

What for?

In addition to knowing a foreign language at an early age, bilingual children:

  • they learn new foreign languages faster and easier

  • utterances in a foreign language are not an "event" or "performance" for them, but a natural activity

  • have a well-trained memory, are good at multitasking, are willing to solve tasks / puzzles,

  • they are flexible, they adapt to changes more easily, they are more open to new, unknown situations, they create relationships with others more easily.

  • Many of the benefits of bilingual education come later - many more opportunities open up for a bilingual child in education, work and personal life.
