Sometimes we get the impression that it cannot be a coincidence, that the child has chosen the place with extraordinary care, so that the "incident" is accompanied by curious or even accusing glances from onlookers. The first curse from our delightful toddler or preschooler is like a cold shower for us. At first, we wonder how it is possible that our offspring, surrounded by classic books since birth, uses words that make your hair stand on end. How could this have happened? Where could he have heard it? Did we not bite our tongue in time? More and more questions swirl in our heads, and a moment later there is emptiness... because we should finally react in some way, but we don't know exactly how.
And although linguists argue that vulgarisms are necessary in every language, and even enrich it, we do not necessarily see a place for them in communication with our children.
